Had an exciting day last Sunday. Started my viewing platform duties to ensure Adored Father didn't overdo anything and I kept a weather eye on the Revered Mother in case she needed reminding to take Father glasses of iced water at regular intervals. However, suddenly Mother was rushing over to Father with a very injured CoCo in her arms!
Seems that a horsefly was troubling Mother and so, with HOE in hand she stepped backwards and took a wild swing at said fly!!!
Ooooops haven’t practiced that shot for years, little off target!!
Collects dog milllllllimeters from left eye, causing eye to leave socket and dog extremely unhappy!!
2,000 k per hour dash to Blunderberg as local vet is apparently not about said his wife and our special vet Dr Mike leaves his congregation in church to rush to surgery whereupon he pushes eye back into socket and all is well.
Well not quite because Adored Father carried CoCo into surgery and spotted stool beside surgical table and decided to sit, as one does in a dogs vet surgery. However ballbearing wheels carried stool away from behind sending Father to floor (2nd broken vertebrae) and dog running away barking “why can I only see outa one eye”!
More stately drive home and Mother sent outside to practice her swings.
Dog fully recovered to day BUT ONE LUCKY COCO!! She sits now with trusted Father and they talk about golfers and other folk not to be trusted.

Also - Look to the side column. I have, with permission, reproduced a letter received from Pepe the new pup greeted in my Pups August Page. You will note that Anita's Pepe can write even at such a tender age BUT Coco as yet cannot even spell! Such a backward child! |
