Agnes and Ecstasy – vol V I love February in Agnes Water! By the first or second week everyone who works, returns to their posts after the Christmas break. The beaches are open again, the terrorists have gone back to the mines or their respective metropolises (metropolii I prefer), Locals start planning the events for the year. Event 1. Endeavour Amateur Playhouse was launched at Mangoes on Saturday February 4th. An enthusiastic coterie of thespians and stage hands gathered to pool their talents. The theatre restaurant play Dimboola was selected as their first public offering, with auditions being held on March 4 and conducted by Director Chris. Its pure 1960 satire where the audience and players dress for that era and everyone is part of the play - some folk wont have to look too far for costumes. An impromptu audition was held when a stunning silver haired curvaceous beauty carried all before her as she danced the Director about whilst singing and projecting her fabulous personality into four roles simultaneously. I still don't know who she was as she left straight away. Have there been any local sightings of Ethel Merman? Should we just call her Madam when she reappears? Event 2. Our sea-change house is finally underway and with almost indecent speed we have moved from bare ground to walls erected! For the low down on building here at Agnes Water, go to the Sea Change House pages - unless you are my builder or one of the contractors - all home truths revealed! *smile* Event 3. .... Nope, can't think of one. Nectarines cost $5 a kilo in Agnes Water and 89 cents a kilo in Bundaberg - so its not just land buying or home building that contains the Agnes Water loading.... We would love to buy more locally, we just cannot afford to.
