Dr Mike & the Sugarland Vet Clinic Baby-sitters

Our constant worry during summer here has been what best to do for the pups (aka babies - OH! you thought I meant non-canine babies?) when we go shopping at Bundaberg.  Tom and I like to browse and shop together, so leaving one of us with the pups whilst the other rushed through the shopping list was not much fun.  Of course, they could not be left in the vehicle unattended. Similarly, we don't like to leave them at home as thunderstorms are frequent at this time and Peppie's only method of retaining her calm Tibetan demeanor during such events, is to perch on the very top of my head!

So, one day I called into the vet clinic we passed each time going into Sugarland, the largest shopping centre in Bundaberg.  A darling receptionist lass assured me they would love to have the babies on a day or overnight visit.  $5 per day or $10 per night each.  I was shown the area the babies sleep in and their play area - all so clean and bright and safe. In fact right from the first step through the door, I must say I got that 'good' feeling about the clinic.

Then  Dr Mike walked in and there was no mistaking we had no worries about the pups from here on in.  Even his locum Dr Elaine is just gorgeous and so loving with Peppie and Coco and sharing of her knowledge. Since then the two girls have spent several nights at Sugarland whilst we were away in Brisbane at the hospital.  Last week was our first 'shopping expedition' and when we took Peppie and Coco out of the car to walk them into the Vets, they both pulled ahead towards the door.  That told me everything I needed to know about the care at Dr Mike's and reinforced the happy time they had been given during their stay.
